Description
Jewry Street was a centre of the Jewish community in medieval Winchester.
Previously named Scowrtenestret, meaning Shoemaker’s Street, the road was known as Jewry Street by the thirteenth-century.

This location is also featured in the Medieval Jewish Trail walking tour, and is now home to a statue of Licoricia of Winchester (see this pin for more details).
